Lunch at The Old Bailey 29.1.16

I joined two other guests for a lunch with the presiding Judges hosted by Sheriff Dr Christine Rigden. It was super to hear the witty banter amongst the Judges. After lunch we three guests went to Court No 9 to observe the concluding part of a Fraud Trial.

Mayoral Debate 28.1.16

The day concluded with my attending  The London Tomorrow and LSE  London Public Debate at the invitation of Liveryman Amanda Clack. It was fascinating to hear all  five candidates  set out their wares  in the first debate  prior to the Election.

Those of you with a keen eye may have seen the reporting of this (and me!) on BBC News.

Breakfast Meeting 28.1.16

I had a most interesting and enjoyable meeting with Liveryman Amanda Clack at the RAC Club where we discussed topics of mutual interest, notably CSTT and the ways in which the RICS can be linked with the WCCS during her Presidential year, which starts on 27.6.16.

GHSM Competition 27.1.16

I was joined by both Wardens, several Past Masters and Liverymen, many with their partners. We enjoyed a delightful evening of singing by some exceptional performers.

I presented the People’s Prize and the Adjudicator’s Prize. We then had a delicious supper with the Performers and the Adjudicators at the Baracca Restaurant.

Plumber’s Court Lunch 26.1.16

I was delighted to be invited by the Master Plumber to a most enjoyable Lunch in the Plumbers new home, Carpenters’ Hall. The  Master Plumber spoke about her Company and her Guest speaker was David Harper who gave a most interesting and amusing account of his war on legionnaires’ disease in hospitals.

Winter Dinner Apothecaries’ Hall 25.1.16

FullSizeRender[17]My husband  joined me for a very jolly Burn’s Night evening. Past Master George Gillon arranged for the piper, said grace and addressed the haggis with a flourish. We were entertained by a very amusing  magician and cabaret artist Bertie Pearce. The guest speaker was Sir Colin Berry, an eminent pathologist and Past Master of the Apothecaries.

Meeting in Melbourne 7.1.16

I had a meeting with Christine Watson, Member Relationship Executive for the RICS in Victoria at the RACv Club to discuss the possibility of some form of link for overseas members of the RICS to the WCCS.

Happy New Year 1.1.16

I wish you all a very happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2016 from Australia
